Wassup En LA has just announced another character, two more to go, YAY!!!! We will be shooting our pilot next year so stay tuned for the dates! Another spoiler alert...I've been cast in an indie film!!! All I can say is it's a comedy spoof and my character is pretty much my alter ego! If you know me then you get an idea of what the character is like and if you don't know me then you'll just have to wait, SORRY! Also, I'm creating my own web channel based on a character I am creating which is so exciting and I can't wait to share this project with you all! TV Fall Line-Up

It's Fall so that means..... NEW SHOWS, NEW SEASON PREMIERES! First, "New Girl" starring Zooey Deschanel is freaking hilarious! The writing is great; they're not desperate for laughs with punchlines or cliche situations. It's fresh, witty and the chemistry just clicks with the cast! Zooey is hilarious and likeable and I always felt that way about her since "Elf" with Will Ferrell! This is a must see show, love it!
"Up All Night" starring Christina Applegate, Will Arnett, and Maya Rudolph. Another comedy that will have you laughing out loud. Christina and Will longing for a "cool" lifestyle plays out so well! We are all guilty of wanting to be cooler than we actually are and some of us will go to the extreme to achieve that! But their awkwardness is what makes it funny to laugh at instead of feeling sorry for the ones who are desperate to feel important. I love the chemistry between the two but Maya Rudolph takes the cake! She is DEFINITELY the shining star of the show! Her over the top, GOD like character is ridiculously funny! Because there are stars who actually behave that way it's like she's almost poking fun at her character! Another, must see show!
"Modern Family" was ANOTHER hit again, anyone surprised? Definitely looking forward to the rest of the season especially with Cam and Mitchell's upcoming baby! Congrats on their Emmy's!
"Curb Your Enthusiasm" starring Larry David, opened up the season with Michael J. Fox! I just CAN'T with this guy! LOL, this is the kind of show where you take a camera, a few people and see what adventures and scenarios come up! It's so simple but brilliant! Michael's cameo was great and I love how they incorporated the Parkinson's disease which is ridiculously hilarious! KUDOS, Larry!
"2 Broke Girls" starring Kat Dennings was definitely a miss for me. I felt like they were trying too hard with the jokes and Kat's character lacked that spark. I get that she's the dead-pan, dry humor, no nonsense, tough Brooklyn girl but nothing grabbed your attention to even LOVE that about her. Beth Behrs plays the other lead and she's the rich, pretty girl who is trying to make it on her own but is having a hard time trying to adjust. Again, I couldn't lock in with her character. I feel like this show has potential but it needs to turn around fast!
Well, there are few more shows I need to check out so stay tuned for more! XOXO Keila

Crawled Back to Earth

.... Yeah, it's been awhile! But I promise it's for a good reason! Well, let me update everyone on what's been going on in Hollywoodland! I am currently in the process of submitting to agencies so now we wait to see who responds, lol! KSR contacted me but it was to inform me that they signed someone who looks similiar to me which I can totally understand! However, I was bummed at first but there are other fish in the so corny! But, I still have a few more agencies I want to submit to.
Regarding "Wassup En LA," there are two more characters that we are close to casting! I had the opportunity to come and see some of the potential actors audition, had a blast! There are some exciting things that will be taking place so stay tuned!
As far as the music goes, I have not been able to concentrate on vocal training because of my dedication to my acting career. But I did purchase a beginners guitar! YAY! I will be getting it tuned but I love it and it's what I always wanted to do!
Recently, I participated in an actor's workshop and received great feedback from the casting director! I encourage ALL actors to take Casting Director workshops its a great way for the CD's to see you perform and become familiar with you. One place that I suggest is! It's inexpensive and the CD's are actually CASTING projects!
Also, I JUST finished my website so make sure you check that out! Thanks for checking the blog guys I really appreciate it! XOXO Keila

.....And Back From Vacation

I wish! Hello, everyone who continuously checks my blog sun down to sun up, *giggles*. Seriously, Its been a while since I last blog and trust its been a busy month! So, I'm back and want to catch up with what's been going on with me! First, regarding the up and coming comedy pilot "Wassup En LA" they're in the stages of  production, meaning completing writing material, studio location...the business side of things! They're still casting for the rest of the la familia and will be announcing the fifth member this coming Sunday! YAY! Oh, check out and! Second, I finished performing for AFTRA's annual Radio Plays this past week! ARP is a tribute to the Golden Era of Radio, if you're not familiar with that golden age of time, FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF! Our performance was a scene from the classic show, "Father Knows Best," I voiced the role of the teenage daughter Betty. Once I receive a copy I will post a link here. Third, I wrapped up filming for a short film called, "C4B" this week which I played a backup dancer! The choreography was HOT and the short is hilarious! That will be posted on here as well once I receive. Last but not least, there is a potential project that I might be doing which is a play that will be going on a national tour! My joining of the cast is not confirmed yet but will be determined soon. The only thing I can release about this project is that it will be a NEW style of theater! (I said that's the only thing!)
Also, I have not found an agent/manager just yet, this is a very important decision and I want to insure that I have the absolute BEST in my corner. Nonetheless, there has been so much progress and I am estatic about everything so stay tuned guys, it only gets better! XOXO Keila

THAT'S Wassup!

Hey guys! I know it's been awhile since my last post but I've been working hard and I have GREAT news...I have been cast as Tawana for the up and coming sitcom "Wassup En La!" I had to go through three auditions and I was chosen to be apart of this amazing project! We will be shooting a pilot soon and shopping it around to get picked up by a network, so stay tuned for that! FINALLY, I am SAG eligible and will be processing my paperwork this week. Also, I am gearing up to find another agency which will give me a much bigger outlet for more roles! I'm excited about everything and it only gets better from here! Make sure you check out my new show's website for all the up to date information . Follow them on twitter: wassupenla , as well as Facebook: Wassup En La. XOXO Keila

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Hey guys! Just dropping by to update you on what's been going on since my last post. Last week, I worked a few shows and had an audition for a predominantly all black stage play! Let's hope I get it! You can catch me in a new show called "So Random" a spin off of "Sonny With a Chance" and another new show called "Ant Farm." Both should premiere this summer! Next month I will be SAG eligible so I am gearing up for that, I want to make sure I find the RIGHT agent this time. I am also still pursuing a manager as well. As for my vocal lessons, they are coming along just great, I definitely can feel and hear the difference. Right now the plan is to continue to hone my skills and looking for the right people to represent me. At the end of this year, I definitely expect some big changes so continue to pray for me! Hope you all are having a blessed and productive day! XOXO Keila

That Poignant MOMENT in Your Life

Hey guys, I have some incredible things to share with you all which I hope you can find beneficial and inspiring. A few months ago I auditioned for an up and coming tv show called "Wassup En La" and I was able to score a callback. Yesterday, I was caught off guard with an email stating I made the SECOND round of callbacks, it is narrowed down to three, including me!! That same day I bumped into a friend I'd worked with on a previous set. He referred me to his manager who I contacted and I feel really good about him, so we shall see what happens.

These past two weeks have been so inspiring to me as a person, and my faith in GOD. Crucial to the life making decisions in my personal and business affairs. I will explain this significant journey I have experienced. I've been on a quest to find a vocal coach and I finally found one! We clicked and she seen something in me that compelled her to help me. Not only is she a wonderful, God-fearing woman but an AMAZING vocal coach. I've already had my third session and can already feel and hear a difference. She is also in the midst of rebuilding her hometown Flint, Michigan. Giving hope to the children, families and the city itself. This re-ignited my passion of creating my non-profit organization for under privileged children in urban areas. A good friend of mine, Jordan Swain, has a non-profit organization with the same mission I want to put out. I feel as though God is telling me to stop putting it on the backburner and DO IT! So, with that said I will be brainstorming my ideal NPO. Now, that brings me to an incredible individual that I was introduced to Byron Nelson, Independent Representative of ACN . This man was so incredibly bright with a crystal clear vision, and a strong faith in God. He has achieved mega success personally and financially. He inspired me to start looking at things in a business perspective as far as my goals and anything in my life that I need to accomplish. I truly believe it was purposefully meant for me to encounter these two individuals right now in this particular point in my life. While I am a work in progress, I feel confident of a relationship with the two. They say the top five people you have in your circle is a mirror of you. That definitely made me ponder about myself as it should for you. I felt compelled to share this amazing experience with you all. Where this journey takes me is exciting and scary but I believe things take a turn for the BEST! XoXo Keila

UPDATE: I am no longer seeing the vocal coach and I have put my NPO on hold for now. When I am able to receive the right resources and time the NPO will come to life. No doubt about it.

The Daaahling Diamond Debonair they call Liz Taylor

Pure white angels have opened the pearly white gates for thee Ms. Taylor. Accompanied with sparkling champagne in white diamond encrusted glasses. Lucky gal. The incredibly gorgeous actress has laid her pretty black mane to rest, eternally. She started as a child actress and made the smooth transition to adult films. Even though her beauty overpowered her acting chops, her private (but very public) life was a tabloid sensation. With multiple marriages and affairs on her resume she was able to shake her tarnished image. Her greatest business venture, White Diamonds and a unforeseen friendship with the King of Pop. As far as her talent, I enjoyed her in A Place In The Sun and thought she was brilliant in Cat On a Hot Tin Roof! Thanks for the fabolousness Liz, sashay to the sky MJ is awaiting your arrival! RIP

The westcoast is a little gloomy this week. But the world recognizes him as the go to guy for a hard hook. Although, his solo efforts weren't a huge hit you can always count on Mr.Nate to kill a hook, always. If you're not familiar with his work I suggest you familiarize yourself! Where the hell you been?! He always had a very calm, cool, mellow demeanor and his voice matched just that! Personally, my favorite song is "Nobody Does It Better." Just had a smooth sound to it. Well, Nate you never disappointed me and I will continue to cherish your legacy. Save us a spot in doggy heaven, it ain't no fun if the catch my drift. RIP

"Reality" TV

It's not a secret that reality is overtaking the entertainment media and that the "stars" are being made into overnight celebrities. My problem is studio executives are putting their effort into creating more trashy tv instead of creating sitcoms with great writing, acting! Since when is reality actually real anyway? They're obviously scripted to create drama the viewers seek or the stars put on an "act" in order to receive more screen time in hopes of being famous. People rather see someone being a buffoon because it makes them feel better about themselves. Instead of watching a great show with REAL celebrities with REAL talent, can't compete with that. Moral of the story? Support the arts! XOXO Keila

The disaster in Japan is heartbreaking. The images are shocking and frightening. Life is short people so take a moment and enjoy the things you have now. We complain and yes situations can be better but we are here! Living, breathing, somehow surviving. Let's be grateful and put negativity aside and really enjoy our moments. They can be gone tomorrow. Please donate if you can and continue to pray for the victims. XOXO, Keila

Yelloooooo! And I'm Back in this bih! Sorry, let me put my professional face back on lol! Ok, so I currently do backgroud/extra work for TV and Film. I was on Parenthood as a dancer and was upgraded to principal or day performer rate. The episode aired last week; However, most of the dancers including me were edited out. Practically, the majority of the scene was cut down. So I didn't receive screen credit which means I do not get residuals :(. But I can use the credit for my resume! Regardless, it felt great that I got my first credit on my own! I joined AFTRA on my own and I will be eligible to join SAG! Now I'm going to shop around for a new agent which shouldn't be hard given the accomplishments that I was able to get myself. Well, I just wanted to share this success with you guys! XOXO Keila!

UPDATE: Even though I was edited out of the scene, by the grace of GOD I am able to receive residuals. Crazy, but I am grateful.

Hey guys, I'm finally putting together my blog so bear with me! First, thank you for taking the time to view my page. The sole purpose of my blog is to let you guys know what current or future projects I'm involved in and to let loose! My name is Keila Hamilton and the arts is my life! Well I was a professional dancer for the Florida Marlins Mermaids for two years! I've studied Theater and Dance in college as well training outside of school. I started doing theater and now I am pursuing TV and Film. I am an AFTRA member and I will be SAG eligible in May '11. It's a lengthy process but I love what I do so I can't complain! Well, that's all as far as my background goes but stay tuned! xoxo Keila!
